Press Release: Solera and Verisk Partner to Automate Motor Insurance Claims with Seamless FNOL Image Integration | Featured Image by FF News

Solera and Verisk have launched a new integration connecting Verisk’s IVI Total Loss solution with Solera’s Audatex platform. For motor insurers and repairers, this move automates the transfer of vehicle images from First Notification of Loss (FNOL) directly into the repair workflow, significantly reducing administrative friction and accelerating the claims lifecycle through earlier parts procurement and triage.

What was announced

The partnership addresses a long-standing bottleneck in the motor claims process: the disconnect between initial notification and the physical repair shop. By integrating Verisk’s IVI Total Loss solution with the Solera Audatex estimating platform, the companies have created a digital bridge that allows critical data and vehicle images to move seamlessly between systems. This functionality is specifically targeted at instances where a vehicle is deemed repairable rather than a total loss, ensuring that the transition from assessment to action is handled without manual data re-entry.

Currently, nearly 3,000 repairers across the UK utilize the Audatex platform. Under this new arrangement, these providers gain instant access to images captured by the policyholder at the First Notification of Loss (FNOL) stage. This visibility enables repairers to begin planning labour requirements and ordering necessary materials before the vehicle even reaches the site. By facilitating faster triage and improved capacity planning, the integration aims to reduce the delays often associated with manual data entry and repetitive information gathering. For insurers, the primary benefit lies in improved claims accuracy and operational efficiency across their approved repairer networks, ensuring that the data captured at the start of the journey remains useful throughout the entire supply chain.

"This collaboration marks an important step forward for the claims ecosystem. By asking customers for information once and securely connecting key data points across the supply chain, insurers and repairers can achieve faster damage assessment, improved accuracy, and a more seamless customer experience."

What this means from an insurtech perspective

This integration signals a shift toward the "connected claims" model, where the siloed nature of carrier FNOL and repairer estimating is finally eroding. For carriers, the ability to push visual data directly to the shop floor addresses the "dead time" between a claim being filed and a repair starting, which is a significant driver of rising claims costs and deteriorating loss ratios. Reinsurers and MGAs should view this as a necessary step in controlling indemnity spend through better triage and parts management. However, it puts pressure on incumbent vendors who lack open APIs, as insurers increasingly demand that their tech stack communicates across the entire value chain to maintain customer trust and operational speed.
