RGI Acquires D4Next to Accelerate AI-Driven Digital Insurance Distribution
By Lauren Towner · 1 October 2026

RGI has acquired D4Next to bridge the gap between legacy core systems and agile digital distribution. For fintech professionals, this move highlights the growing demand for "intelligent layers" that allow insurers to deploy AI-driven products and omnichannel strategies without the immediate need for a total core system overhaul, accelerating time-to-market in a competitive landscape.
What was announced
RGI, a major provider of digital solutions for the European insurance sector, has completed the acquisition of D4Next, an insurtech firm focused on connecting insurance products with modern distribution channels through innovative AI models. The deal centers on D4Next’s YOGA platform, an orchestration layer designed to sit atop and integrate with existing insurance systems to extend their functional capabilities. This technology allows insurers to decouple the configuration of commercial offers from the underlying technical product, enabling significantly faster deployment of new services across mobile, phone, and intermediary channels.
The YOGA platform specifically addresses channel strategy management, real-time business event processing, and analytics. It is designed to support the creation of hybrid offerings that combine insurance with non-insurance products, facilitating omnichannel interactions. Furthermore, the platform incorporates agentic AI applications that support digital interactions with customers across critical insurance processes, including underwriting, claims, and customer service. These AI-driven capabilities are intended to help insurers introduce innovation progressively while evolving their existing technology stacks.
D4Next currently operates with a team of more than 20 professionals across Italy and France and has secured a customer base of 16 clients in the three years since its inception. The acquisition is intended to bolster RGI’s presence in the French market, where D4Next already has an established entity following the addition of Christophe Quesne to the shareholding structure in 2024. Notably, the YOGA platform is already fully integrated with the RGI PASS Platform, and the companies have reported positive customer experiences from those already using the integrated suite. RGI and D4Next are currently pursuing opportunities in France to expand their joint cooperation.
"The acquisition of D4Next boosts RGI’s ability to help insurers evolve their technology progressively, combining our expertise in insurance platforms with new capabilities that can accelerate innovation across digital, products and distribution,"
Gianni Camisa, RGI Group CEO.
The companies involved
RGI stands as a leading provider of digital solutions for the European insurance industry, offering a comprehensive suite of tools designed to manage the entire insurance lifecycle. The company is recognized for its core platforms, such as the RGI PASS Platform, which provide the essential infrastructure for policy administration, claims management, and distribution for insurers across Europe. RGI has positioned itself as a key partner for insurers looking to navigate complex technological landscapes, focusing on providing stable yet evolving software that can handle the high-volume requirements of the modern insurance market.
D4Next is a specialized insurance technology company founded in 2021 by Vito Rocca and Davide Scaravaggi. The firm has focused its efforts on building solutions that bridge the gap between traditional insurance products and modern digital distribution channels. Operating primarily out of Italy and France, D4Next has carved out a niche by providing an "intelligent layer" that enhances the agility of existing insurance systems. In 2024, the company’s shareholding structure was expanded to include Christophe Quesne, a move coinciding with the establishment of its French entity. D4Next’s approach emphasizes the use of AI to streamline processes and improve the speed at which insurers can bring new commercial offers to market, addressing a critical need for flexibility in a sector often slowed by legacy technology.
What this means
This acquisition signals a shift in the insurtech market away from "rip and replace" strategies toward modular, incremental evolution. By acquiring D4Next, RGI is acknowledging that even the most robust core platforms require an agile "intelligence layer" to keep pace with the rapid shifts in consumer behavior and AI capabilities. This puts pressure on traditional software vendors who lack a middleware strategy, as insurers increasingly prioritize speed-to-market over deep-rooted system stability. The inclusion of agentic AI within the YOGA platform also suggests that the next frontier for insurance competition will be the automation of complex customer interactions, rather than just simple policy issuance.
