MS Reinsurance Strengthens Global Specialty Leadership with Key Appointments

ZURICH, Switzerland. September 2, 2026 – Global reinsurer MS Reinsurance (MS Re) today announced the appointment of Julien Mollinier as Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Speciality Lines. Mr. Mollinier succeeds Jörg Bruniecki, who assumed the position of Chief Underwriting Officer for MS Re earlier this year.

Mr. Mollinier brings more than 20 years of industry experience, having held senior leadership positions at Aspen Re, and most recently as President, EMEA, at TransRe. He has extensive expertise in Financial Risks, alongside broad P&C and speciality market experience.

In his new role, he will lead MS Re’s Global Speciality team, with responsibility for driving its strategic development. He will be based in Zurich, effective early 2027.

MS Re also announced that Joscelin Burrer has been appointed Head of Financial Risks, reporting to Mr. Mollinier. Mr. Burrer joined the company earlier this year and has served as interim Head of Financial Risks following the departure of Paul Murphy in April. Based in New York, he brings more than 25 years of experience across reinsurance, property and casualty, and senior leadership roles, including as Head of Credit and Surety for Markel Global Reinsurance.

Additionally, MS Re has appointed Pius Leupi as Lead Underwriter, Financial Risks. He will be based in Zurich and will work closely with Mr. Burrer and the broader financial risks team to build on our strong market presence. Mr. Leupi was most recently Head of Credit and Surety, EMEA & APAC at Swiss Re.
