MindWave Innovations Inc. USA has entered a two-year master maintenance and service agreement with Delaware-based BlockAssure Inc. to develop AssureChain, a dedicated blockchain subnet for insurance and reinsurance operations. For industry professionals, this represents a significant move toward end-to-end on-chain lifecycle management, covering everything from policy issuance and premium payments to reinsurance treaty settlement.

What was announced

The agreement, which took effect on Oct. 4, 2026, tasks MindWave with the design, development, security auditing, and deployment of AssureChain. This dedicated subnet of the MindChain network is designed to host the entirety of BlockAssure’s insurance operations. The system is built around four distinct modules: insurance contracts; policy issuance and lifecycle management (including premium and payment entries); reinsurance treaties and facultative placements; and a comprehensive claims processing engine. This engine handles the full claims journey, from initial notification through assessment, settlement, and subsequent reinsurance recovery.

A critical component of the architecture is a data oracle that feeds verified parametric, environmental, catastrophe, market, and identity data onto the chain. This allows for the automatic triggering of parametric claims once pre-agreed thresholds are met. To ensure data integrity and privacy, personal information will only be recorded on-chain in hashed or tokenized forms, and each module will undergo an independent security audit before moving into production. MindChain will serve as the settlement layer, anchoring AssureChain’s records to the Ethereum blockchain to provide a verifiable audit trail from policy inception to claim closure.

The commercial terms involve quarterly development fees paid to MindWave. Upon the creation of "AssureCoin," a digital token within the MindChain network, MindWave will receive an allocation equal to 20% of the total supply. This allocation is fully vested on delivery, with anti-dilution protections maintaining that 20% share for the duration of the agreement or for two years thereafter. Following the initial development phase, MindWave will manage hosting, validator operations, maintenance, and helpdesk support.

"BlockAssure chose us to build AssureChain, and it is exactly the kind of work we want to do for U.S. clients,"

The companies involved

MindWave Innovations Inc. USA operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Apimeds Pharmaceuticals US, Inc., a company listed on the NYSE American under the ticker APUS. In this partnership, MindWave acts strictly as the technology provider, supplying the underlying infrastructure and technical services required to run the AssureChain network. This contract represents a significant expansion of MindWave’s U.S. business, marking its entry into the specialized fields of insurance and reinsurance technology.

BlockAssure Inc. is a Delaware-based entity that focuses on the operational and regulatory side of the insurance market. Under the terms of the agreement, BlockAssure maintains responsibility for all market relationships, including those with insurers, reinsurers, and brokers. The company leads all underwriting and claims decisions and manages the necessary licensing requirements. While MindWave builds and maintains the digital architecture, BlockAssure utilizes the platform to manage the placement and settlement of insurance risks. The two companies have established a clear division of labor: BlockAssure manages the insurance value chain and counterparty relationships, while MindWave provides the exclusive blockchain infrastructure needed to digitize those processes.

What this means from an insurtech perspective

This announcement highlights a growing shift toward "single-source-of-truth" architectures in the reinsurance sector. By anchoring every step of the policy lifecycle—from primary issuance to reinsurance recovery—on a single verifiable ledger, this project addresses the chronic data fragmentation that plagues the global reinsurance market. For carriers and MGAs, the integration of a data oracle for parametric triggers suggests a move toward reducing loss adjustment expenses and improving customer trust through faster, automated settlements. However, this model puts significant pressure on incumbent legacy core-system vendors. As more risk moves onto dedicated subnets, traditional vendors may find their siloed databases increasingly incompatible with the transparency and real-time reconciliation demands of modern reinsurers and capital providers. The success of such a platform will ultimately depend on whether brokers and reinsurers are willing to move away from established, manual placement processes in favor of a unified digital record.
