Jensten Group Names Clive Buesnel as New CEO to Lead Global Expansion and Tech Transformation
By Lauren Towner · 12 October 2026

Jensten Group has appointed Clive Buesnel as its new Group CEO, effective November 2026, marking a significant leadership transition for the UK-based insurance intermediary. For brokers and MGAs, this move signals a shift toward a more technology-driven and divisional growth strategy as the firm looks to scale its national presence under new executive guidance.
What was announced
Clive Buesnel will succeed Rob Organ as Group CEO on November 2, 2026, pending regulatory approval. Organ, who joined from Tasker Insurance Group in 2021, has overseen a period of rapid expansion. Under his tenure, Jensten grew from 200 colleagues in 2001 to over 1,000 and tripled the Gross Written Premium within its control. The group also completed a major refinancing at the end of 2025 and recently transitioned to a new divisional structure with dedicated leadership for its Broking and Product & Distribution arms.
Buesnel joins from Insurance Advisory Partners (IAP), where he served as Managing Partner, International. His career includes a stint as Group CEO of Tysers, where he managed the integration of three major businesses and modernised technology and operations. He also founded and scaled the Xchanging Insurance division to approximately £140 million in revenue and £26 million EBITDA, and served as CEO of the Lloyd’s carrier Jubilee. His background at Deloitte as UK Insurance Leader and Vice Chairman further adds to his strategic credentials in the London Market, where he advised some of the largest global brokers and carriers on industry transformation programmes. This transition follows Jensten's recent efforts to solidify its internal leadership, ensuring that both its retail broking and its MGA/distribution businesses have autonomous management while remaining aligned with the group's overarching growth objectives.
"Jensten is a great business that has built national scale without taking trading decisions away from the people who know the client best. In our rapidly changing world, this is a very exciting time to be given the opportunity to lead the next chapter of development and growth – combining outstanding talent, innovative technology and AI with the backing of Bain Capital to create an exceptional business delivering market leading service and advice to our customers. I would like to thank Rob for his very significant contribution and leadership."

The companies involved
Jensten Group is a prominent UK insurance intermediary that operates across broking, underwriting, and distribution. The firm has established itself as a major consolidator in the UK market, focusing on regional presence while maintaining a centralised support structure. It is backed by Bain Capital, a global private investment firm with approximately $185 billion in assets under management. Bain Capital has a significant history in the financial services and insurance sectors, having been involved in 14 previous stories tracked by FF News, reflecting its active role in the global investment landscape.
Jensten’s current structure is designed to support both organic growth and an aggressive M&A strategy, which has been a hallmark of its recent development. The group’s focus on maintaining local trading autonomy while leveraging group-level technology and capacity makes it a key player for independent brokers looking for exit strategies or partnership opportunities within the UK’s fragmented insurance landscape. By operating through distinct divisions, Jensten manages a diverse portfolio that includes specialist commercial lines, personal lines, and niche schemes, positioning itself as a comprehensive partner for both retail clients and wholesale capacity providers.
What this means from an insurtech perspective
This appointment highlights the increasing pressure on large-scale brokers and MGAs to move beyond simple consolidation and toward technological sophistication. Buesnel’s background in technology modernisation and AI suggests that Jensten is prioritising the digitisation of its distribution channels and core systems to maintain competitive loss ratios and operational efficiency. For the wider market, this move signals that the "buy-and-build" phase of insurance consolidation is evolving; carriers and reinsurers will likely see Jensten push for more data-driven underwriting and streamlined claims processes. The challenge for incumbent vendors will be meeting the demands of a leadership team that views technology and AI as central to scaling a multi-divisional insurance business.
