Orange Insurance Exchange Goes Live on Solstice Innovations’ AI-Native Equinox Platform
By Lauren Towner · 10 September 2026

Orange Insurance Exchange ("Orange") today announced it has gone live on Equinox™, the AI-native policy administration platform from Solstice Innovations, launching HO-3, HO-6, and DP-3 homeowners, condo, and dwelling fire products simultaneously for new business across its Florida portfolio. Orange's commercial lines products will launch on the same platform in early 2027.
Standing up three products at once, rather than staggering them over successive release cycles, reflects the core advantage of Equinox™: rating, issuance, endorsements, renewals, claims, billing, and forms all run on a single, holistic system, with AI embedded directly into the underwriting, servicing, and claims workflows rather than layered on top of them. The result is a platform Orange can reconfigure, rates, rules, forms, without waiting on a development calendar.
"We looked hard at what it would take to bring three products to market without compromising underwriting discipline," said Don Matz, Chief Executive Officer of Orange Insurance Exchange. "Solstice gave us a platform that's genuinely configurable, which means our underwriting team can respond to what we're seeing in the book instead of waiting on a release calendar. Our agents get a faster, cleaner submission process, and our members get decisions in a fraction of the time. Personal lines is the starting point; we're building our commercial product on the same foundation in early 2027."
The Equinox™ AI-native architecture is engineered into how the platform operates at every stage of the policy lifecycle, not bolted on as a standalone feature. At quote, it validates and enriches property data, cutting agent data entry and improving submission accuracy. In underwriting, it prioritizes referrals based on risk signals and classifies inspections, loss runs, and correspondence, freeing underwriters to focus on judgment rather than administrative review. Every capability operates within Orange's underwriting guidelines, with human oversight maintained for binding decisions. Additionally, Solstice has embedded AI throughout its entire SDLC, onboarding, and client support desk, improving the cadence, quality, and function of software delivery.
"There's a real difference between AI bolted onto a legacy system and AI that's woven into the DNA of the architecture from day one, that's the line we hold ourselves to," said Travis Pine, Chief Executive Officer of Solstice Innovations. "Orange came to us with a clear picture of how they wanted to underwrite and where the friction actually was. Standing up three products simultaneously on one configurable platform, with AI supporting the underwriter instead of replacing them, is exactly the kind of deployment Equinox™ was built for."
The launch extends the Equinox™ footprint across Florida homeowners and adds to a growing roster of carriers and MGAs, spanning NFIP flood, private flood, and homeowners lines, that have moved onto the platform in 2026. Solstice remains the only platform in the market unifying NFIP flood, private flood, and homeowners on a single AI-native system.
