MS Transverse Strengthens Board with Three Industry Heavyweights from Aon and Markel

MS Transverse has announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors: Michael Angelina, Bryan Sanders and Kevin Traetow.
John Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of MS Transverse, said the company is pleased to welcome the three, and that their combined experience across specialty insurance, reinsurance and actuarial risk management strengthens the board as MS Transverse continues to build its partnership platform and grow its market position.
Michael Angelina, ACAS, MAAA, CERA, brings 40 years of experience as a qualified actuary, former chief risk officer and director. He served as chief risk officer and chief actuary of Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Endurance Specialty Holdings, where he led global pricing, reserving and risk management, and spent more than 16 years at actuarial consulting firm Tillinghast. He has also held board roles at Coaction Specialty, Hagerty and RLI.
Bryan Sanders brings more than 40 years of leadership in specialty insurance, underwriting, distribution, mergers and acquisitions and enterprise strategy. He most recently served as Chairman, U.S. Wholesale and Specialty for Markel, and previously held executive roles at Alterra Specialty, Hilb Rogal and Hobbs, and MacDuff Underwriters. He is a past president of the Wholesale and Specialty Insurance Association and has received the WSIA Vincent Donahue/Charles McAlear Industry Award and the Insurance Insider U.S. Lifetime Achievement Award. He holds a degree from Kent State University along with the Chartered Insurance Counselor and Associate in Risk Management designations, and serves on the board of Operation Healing Forces.
Kevin Traetow retired from Aon in April 2026 after a career of almost 40 years in insurance and reinsurance. His most recent role was US Vice Chairman of Aon Reinsurance Solutions. He also served as Co-President of Aon's US Reinsurance business, with responsibility for more than 900 employees.
