In total, 47 charities have received LVC grants totalling £3.86 million since 2010.

LVC works with the Lloyd’s & City Branch of Royal British Legion and the Lloyd’s Military Network to collect charitable donations from companies and individuals in the London market community. Lead donor, the Corporation of Lloyd’s, sits alongside various managing agencies, broking firms, and market suppliers to help our insurance community put its generous appreciation of those who have served to extraordinary benefit.

LVC Chairman Brigadier (Retd) Edward Butler CBE DSO said: “Geopolitical turmoil is a regular topic in our market. When turmoil becomes conflict, military personnel are our front line, both figuratively and literally. That has made the need to provide support to veterans and their families greater now than ever in recent memory.”

“For more than two centuries, our insurance market has proudly supported the individuals who have valiantly defended our values, often at the cost of their life, limbs, or mental acuity. I remain humbled that the market places its trust in the judgement and governance of the Trustees of Lloyd’s Veterans Charity to put our generous donations to excellent work.”

Butler continued: “Following our rigorous vetting and selection process, we have selected nine organisations to support this year through our grant programme. We believe they are already making a genuine difference to veterans and their families. We should all be extremely proud of our market’s ongoing commitment to their well-being. I encourage everyone in the London insurance market, whether you have ties to the military or simply wish to express your gratitude to those who have served, to lend us your support.”

Sir Charles Roxburgh, Chairman of Lloyd’s, said: “I’m proud of a great many things about Lloyd’s, and the work of the Lloyd’s Veterans Charity ranks very highly among them. It is the impeccably trustworthy vehicle through which the Corporation of Lloyd’s funnels our support to veterans and their families, as we have done for centuries, in line with our commitment to the Military Covenant. I applaud and thank the Trustees for their diligence in selecting worthy organisations to put those funds to best use.”

Benjamin Hancock MBE, Chairman, Lloyd’s & City of London Branch Royal British Legion said: “The Lloyd’s & City branch are proud to have worked alongside the LVC for a number of years to raise funds through the Lloyd’s Slip Campaign, and commend the efficiency by which they distribute funds to key veteran points of need. Their work is complementary to our own, and demonstrates how the broader Lloyd’s community pulls together to support a wide range of veteran needs”

Dom Sweny, Chair of the Lloyd’s Military Network, said: “Businesses within Lloyd’s and the wider London market are home to many veterans, many of whom participate in one or more Military networks. We’re delighted support LVC’s grant-making work, especially as it helps veterans find work and thrive in the insurance sector, where we continue, after service, to make an invaluable contribution to society.”
