Press Release: ManyPets Becomes First UK Specialist Pet Insurer to Launch ChatGPT Plugin | Featured Image by FF News

ManyPets, the UK pet insurance provider, has become the first UK specialist pet insurer to launch a plugin on ChatGPT, giving pet owners a route to an indicative quote without leaving the chat interface. OpenAI recently rebranded the format from "Apps" to "Plugins".

After answering a short set of questions, users are shown estimated prices and plan options from ManyPets' Lifetime range, covering between £3,000 and £20,000 in annual vet fees for ongoing accident and illness treatment. The plugin does not offer advice or product recommendations.

The move targets consumers who now use large language models for research and product comparison rather than traditional search engines. ManyPets says it expects growing numbers of customers to use ChatGPT and comparable platforms to explore and buy from brands, and expects the role of LLMs in financial services to widen over time into servicing and new product types.

Luisa Barile, chief executive at ManyPets, called it another significant milestone for the company and said being first reflects its role in shaping the pet insurance of tomorrow.

Shane Larkin, chief marketing officer, said the company sees a clear shift in how consumers search for products and services, and described the launch as meeting customers, and increasingly their AI agents, in the channels they use and trust.

Part of Many Group and active in pet insurance since 2017, ManyPets covers close to 400,000 pets in the UK. The provider maintains more than 25,000 five-star Trustpilot ratings and a TrustScore of 4.6. It was named Pet Insurance Provider Of The Year for a fifth time at the 2026 Moneyfactscompare.co.uk Awards and received the Consumer's Choice award for claims innovation.
