Guidewire Launches Agentic Insurance Platform to Revolutionize P&C Underwriting and Claims
By Lauren Towner · 28 October 2026

Guidewire has launched a new platform approach to agentic insurance, integrating AI agents directly into its core applications to automate complex workflows. For carriers and MGAs, this shift moves AI from experimental silos into governed operations, aiming to increase the speed and precision of underwriting and claims decisions while maintaining strict audit trails and security controls.
What was announced
The announcement centers on a suite of "agentic" capabilities designed to run on the same platform as Guidewire’s core applications, accessing real-time data and existing workflows. In underwriting, the Advanced Product Designer and PricingCenter aim to reduce the time from product concept to market-ready rates to just a few days. The UnderwritingCenter now converts raw submissions into risk profiles that match portfolio strategy, while the Risk Accumulation App allows managers to visualize peril exposure across a book of business within their standard workflow.
For claims operations, Guidewire introduced Concierge, which uses autonomous voice or chat agents to capture loss details and deliver decision-ready files to ClaimCenter. The ProNavigator tool provides adjusters and underwriters with embedded AI assistants for file summarization and next-best-action suggestions. To support these tools, the Agentic Framework allows technical teams to either use Guidewire-developed agents or build their own, with built-in guardrails to monitor behavior and costs.
The platform also includes Kaleidoscope, which uses federated learning to train predictive models on an insurer’s own data alongside industry datasets without moving records, preserving privacy. These advancements were demonstrated at the Guidewire Connections conference in Las Vegas, attended by over 3,000 insurance professionals from 36 countries.
The companies involved
Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE) is a dominant provider of core systems for the global property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. Its platform supports essential functions including underwriting, policy administration, billing, and claims management. The company has become a central hub for the insurtech ecosystem, often serving as the primary record-keeping system for large-scale carriers.
The announcement also highlights the involvement of Definity, where Chief Technology Officer Tatjana Lalkovic noted the use of Guidewire Developer Assistants to accelerate implementation. Industry analysis was provided by Celent, a research and advisory firm focused on financial services technology, represented by Karlyn Carnahan, Head of North America Insurance. The release also mentions the integration of these tools into Guidewire’s professional services methodology to reduce migration timelines for insurers moving away from legacy infrastructure.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has closely followed Guidewire’s aggressive expansion into AI and cloud-native services. In October 2026, the publication reported on a major strategic move in Guidewire to Acquire hyperexponential for $2.1 Billion to Revolutionize Agentic Underwriting, which signaled the company's intent to dominate the pricing and underwriting space. Other recent coverage includes CASE3 Technologies Joins Guidewire PartnerConnect to Drive AI-Led Insurance Transformation and Hyland Launches Validated Cloud Integrations for Guidewire to Unify P&C Insurance Operations. Furthermore, an ISG Report recently highlighted how Guidewire’s ecosystem is a primary driver for P&C insurers accelerating their cloud migration and AI adoption strategies.
What this means from an insurtech perspective
This move signals a transition from "Generative AI" as a novelty to "Agentic AI" as a core utility. By embedding agents directly into PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter, Guidewire is putting immense pressure on standalone AI point-solutions that lack deep integration into the system of record. For carriers, the value lies in the "audit trail"—the ability to prove why an AI agent made a specific underwriting or claims decision, which is a regulatory necessity. This platform approach could significantly lower loss ratios by enabling more granular, real-time pricing adjustments and faster claims adjudication, potentially widening the gap between tech-forward incumbents and those still struggling with legacy core-system modernization.
