Press Release: Viaffinity Launches 'Via' to Revolutionize Embedded Insurance for SaaS Platforms | Featured Image by FF News

Viaffinity has launched Via, a purpose-built embedded insurance distribution platform designed to integrate coverage directly into SaaS workflows. For insurance carriers and MGAs, this represents a shift toward "Embedded Insurance 2.0," where operational data and conversational AI are used to drive higher conversion rates and provide deeper visibility into book performance for software partners.

What was announced

Viaffinity’s new platform, Via, is an infrastructure layer specifically for SaaS platforms looking to offer insurance as a native feature. The platform aims to move the industry past static "get a quote" banners by leveraging the contextual data already held within software platforms—such as contract requirements and business changes—to offer relevant coverage at the point of need.

Key features include a conversational AI insurance assistant that resides within the partner software. This assistant uses customer and operational context to help users understand their specific risks and navigate the purchase path. For the SaaS partners, Via provides a backend dashboard with distribution intelligence, offering visibility into pipeline health, book performance, and multi-line opportunities. It tracks customers, quotes, and policies throughout the entire insurance lifecycle.

The platform is designed for rapid deployment, featuring implementation and debugging tools for development teams and AI-assisted setup designed to accelerate integration using modern coding assistants. An early implementation by NetVendor, a vendor management platform, demonstrated that the system could be integrated into existing workflows in approximately three hours. This speed of deployment is intended to lower the barrier for software companies to act as insurance distributors while Viaffinity manages the underlying insurance infrastructure. The launch marks the company’s push into what it calls "Embedded Insurance 2.0," focusing on relevance and transparency over simple lead generation.

"The software platforms we work with already know a great deal about their customers: what work they do, how their business is changing, what their contracts require. Via puts that context to work. Instead of a generic 'get a quote' banner, a customer sees the coverage they actually need, at the moment they need it,"

The companies involved

Viaffinity operates as a provider of embedded insurance programs and technology, focusing on the intersection of SaaS platforms and insurance distribution. The company positions itself as a bridge between traditional insurance products and the digital environments where small businesses and vendors manage their daily operations. By providing the operating infrastructure, Viaffinity allows non-insurance companies to offer coverage without the heavy lifting of building their own insurance stacks.

NetVendor, one of the early adopters of the Via platform, is a specialist in compliance-led vendor management for the property management sector. Its platform is used by property management companies to ensure their vendors meet specific insurance and regulatory requirements. The partnership between the two companies, established earlier this year, focuses on providing vendors with a direct path to compliant coverage when they are flagged for expired or insufficient insurance. This specific use case highlights how embedded insurance is increasingly being used to solve immediate compliance friction within B2B ecosystems, rather than just acting as a secondary revenue stream for the software provider.

What this means from an insurtech perspective

This launch highlights a critical pivot for the insurtech sector: the move from "distribution as a link" to "distribution as a service." For carriers and MGAs, the value of embedded insurance has often been hampered by low conversion rates on generic forms. By utilizing conversational AI and real-time operational data, Viaffinity is attempting to solve the "relevance gap" that plagues many early embedded plays. This puts pressure on incumbent legacy vendors whose core systems cannot easily ingest the granular, third-party data required for this level of contextual underwriting. If implementation times truly drop to hours rather than months, the speed of market entry for new MGAs and niche products will accelerate significantly.
