Aon Strengthens Japan Global Solutions with Strategic Leadership Appointments
By Lauren Towner · 2 October 2026

Aon has appointed Naoki Kido and Yuki Tanemura to lead its Japan Global Solutions (JGS) division, a move designed to strengthen support for Japanese multinational corporations navigating international expansion. For fintech and risk professionals, these appointments signal a strategic focus on bridging the gap between domestic Japanese market shifts and global risk capital requirements.
What was announced
Aon’s Japan Global Solutions (JGS) is a dedicated global network designed to integrate the firm’s Risk Capital and Human Capital capabilities. The platform specifically targets Japanese multinational clients, helping them manage domestic market transitions while facilitating international growth. The new leadership structure is intended to accelerate the platform’s growth and enhance collaboration across Aon’s global network.
Naoki Kido will join the firm as Global Head of Japan Global Solutions, effective September 30, 2026. Based in Tokyo, Kido will lead the global strategy and vision for the platform, reporting to Craig Torgius, Chief Client Officer and Head of Enterprise Clients, Asia Pacific. Kido joins from WTW, where he most recently served as Practice Leader of the Japan Global Practice Group for North America. His career spans over two decades, including senior leadership positions across Europe and North America focusing on risk management and employee benefits.
Yuki Tanemura has been appointed Global Chief Commercial Officer and Head of North America for Japan Global Solutions, effective January 1, 2027. Operating from Chicago and reporting to Kido, Tanemura will focus on commercial growth and client engagement. Tanemura has spent 20 years at Aon, holding various leadership roles across Japan, Southeast Asia, and the United States. These appointments remain subject to applicable regulatory requirements and represent a significant investment in the firm’s ability to provide analytic-led solutions to Japanese firms operating in an increasingly interconnected environment.
"As the needs of businesses in Japan continue to evolve, and as Japanese companies continue to expand their global footprint, strengthening the connection between our teams in Japan and across our global network has never been more important. Kido and Tanemura bring complementary strengths that will help deepen that connectivity and continue to deliver a more seamless experience for clients both in Japan and internationally. Their appointments reflect Aon’s long-term commitment to the Japanese market and continued investment in the leadership, capabilities and global collaboration needed to support multinational organisations in Japan navigate complexity and achieve their ambitions wherever they operate."

The companies involved
Aon plc (NYSE: AON) is a prominent global professional services firm that provides a broad range of risk, retirement, and health solutions. The company operates as a major intermediary in the global insurance and reinsurance markets, focusing on delivering data-driven insights to help clients reduce volatility and improve performance. Aon’s presence in the Asia Pacific region is a core component of its global strategy, particularly as it seeks to unify its Risk Capital and Human Capital divisions. By integrating these capabilities, Aon aims to address the dual challenges of financial risk and workforce management that multinational corporations face.
The Japan Global Solutions network is a specialized extension of this strategy, acting as a bridge for Japanese firms that require local expertise paired with a global reach. This organizational structure allows the firm to deploy specialized resources across different geographies, ensuring that clients have access to consistent advisory services whether they are operating in Tokyo, Chicago, or London. The firm continues to position itself as a key partner for organizations navigating an increasingly complex global regulatory and economic landscape.
What FF News has reported before
FF News has followed Aon’s recent efforts to streamline its global operations and expand its specialized insurance offerings. In September 2026, the firm announced that Aon Appoints Jane Drummond as Global Chief Commercial Officer to Lead Growth Strategy. This followed the news that Aon Launches Totalis Specialty Group to Unify $5.5 Billion U.S. Programs Business, a move set to take effect on January 1, 2027. On the product innovation front, the firm recently Debuts Sidecar X with $200M Capacity to Revolutionize Transactional Risk Insurance. Additionally, Aon’s research has highlighted significant macroeconomic pressures, noting that U.S. Employer Health Care Costs Projected to Surge 9.5% in 2027 as Inflation Hits Decadal Highs, a factor that will likely influence the human capital strategies of its multinational clients.
What this means
The appointment of a high-level recruit from a direct competitor like WTW underscores the intensifying battle for specialized talent in the Japanese outbound investment sector. As Japanese firms look to diversify away from a stagnant domestic economy, they face increasingly complex regulatory and inflationary environments abroad. This move puts pressure on other global brokerages to prove they can offer the same level of cultural and linguistic integration alongside sophisticated risk modeling. The integration of Risk and Human Capital is no longer a luxury but a necessity for firms managing cross-border M&A and talent retention. The industry will be watching to see if this unified approach can effectively mitigate the rising costs of global health care and transactional risks.
