Socotra Launches Agentic Configuration to Accelerate AI-Driven Insurance Product Development

Socotra, the AI-native insurance core platform built to support production AI at scale, has announced the launch of free, open-source agent skills that enable insurers to leverage Socotra Agentic Configuration. This new tool allows insurers to create and modify insurance product configurations using natural-language instructions through AI tools including Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, Cursor, and more.
Socotra is the first insurance core to release skills for its platform. These skills consist of a set of reusable instructions and workflows that help AI agents interact more accurately and efficiently with the Socotra core. By using Socotra Skills, insurers can utilize the AI tools they already prefer to work directly with their insurance core, allowing them to test ideas faster, apply changes more consistently, and spend less time translating business decisions into technical steps.
The move is notable as insurers look for practical applications of agentic AI beyond copilots and experimentation. Connected to the Socotra Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, these skills extend Socotra AI Agent capabilities, enabling insurers to reduce product development timelines by 50%, costs by 75%, and prototype iteration time by 90%.
Unlike a generic AI assistant, Socotra Agentic Configuration is grounded in Socotra’s product model, APIs, configuration structures, and validation processes. Rather than modifying the core platform, the AI assistant works within the platform’s customizable layer, allowing its output to be tested, reviewed, and treated as production code.
